André Turpin (born 1966) is a Canadian cinematographer, film director and screenwriter.〔("André Turpin réalise un premier film depuis Un crabe dans la tête" ). Radio-Canada, July 2, 2014.〕 As a cinematographer, he is a two-time Genie Award winner for Best Cinematography, for ''Maelström'' at the 21st Genie Awards〔("It's a Maelstrom at the Genie awards" ). ''The Globe and Mail'', January 30, 2001.〕 and for ''Incendies'' at the 31st Genie Awards,〔("'Incendies', 'Barney's' top Genies" ). ''Brockville Recorder'', March 10, 2011.〕 and a five-time winner of the Jutra Award for Best Cinematography, for ''Maelström'', ''Incendies'', ''C'est pas moi, je le jure!'', ''Un crabe dans la tête'' and ''Mommy''. As a director he is best known for ''Un crabe dans la tête'', which was Canada's submission to the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 75th Academy Awards.〔("Un Crabe selected for Oscar run" ). ''Playback'', November 11, 2002.〕 He has also been nominated five other times for Best Cinematography at each of the Genie and Jutra Awards, and was a nominee for Best Screenplay for ''Un crabe dans la tête'' at the 22nd Genie Awards.
